Born in Tomsk, Russia, Aleksandra’s early life was shaped by the performing arts that she participated in including dance, hosting, classical guitar and theatre, as well as the martial arts, such as jiu-jitsu and hapkido. By the age of 15, Aleksandra achieved a diploma in classical acoustic guitar. Additionally she began performing at the “Experimental Theatre for Young Adults” in Safonovo City. It was during that time she came to the realization that acting was her true passion.
In 2008 she began studying at the All Russian State University of Cinematography (VGIK) in the Acting faculty for Theatre/ Film & Television on a full scholarship.
During her university studies, Aleksandra was performing at a variety of musical and dramatic theatres in Moscow.
By graduation Aleksandra had starred in three diploma plays and received the “Golden Leaf” Award for the Best Theatre Actress of 2012 for her performance in “In Search of Happiness: A Comedy in Two Acts” written by Viktor Rozov.
Following her graduation, Aleksandra began touring with Sergey Bezrukov’s Theatre starring in “Pushkin” as Alexandrine Goncharova. Furthermore, she continued to perform as Gerda in the musical “Snow Queen” at DMTYA Theatre. As her theatre career began to flourish, Aleksandra also appeared in a variety of television programs and short films throughout Russia.
As a professionally trained method actress, Aleksandra brings a level of seriousness and depth to a character that goes above and beyond.
Inspired by the great method actors in North American cinema, she decided to move from Russia to Canada in pursuit of an even greater challenge of her acting abilities.
In 2013, Aleksandra was invited by Ivanna Chubbuck to train with her at her studio in Los Angeles, California. Upon leaving Los Angeles, she returned to Toronto and attended the Toronto Film School where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Acting for Film and Television.
Recently, Aleksandra appeared in a supporting role in “Grand Cancan” which is receiving critical acclaim at film festivals around the world. A few among the aforementioned are the MIFF Awards, Phoenix Film Festival and the Vienna Independent Film Festival. Aleksandra believes there is always room for improvement and continues to strive for perfection in each and every performance.
